The Ice Kachang tactile was the first switch in our Shaved Ice series and inspired by a childhood favourite dessert thanks to all the Malaysians and Singaporeans in Perth. For those who are familiar with the ice kachang/ais kacang, we hope the colourway is remiscent of some of the many elements you'd find in this amazing dessert.

We decided to make a linear equivalent of the Ice Kachang Tactiles by getting rid of the bump, adding some more travel but still long pole, and going for a transparent PC stem. The combo also adds some brightness to Aflion's signature deep sound profile.

The switches were great and I love them but they began to stop working rather quickly

These became my favorite switches and I love everything about them, how they sound and how they feel . They have an odd almost slightly tactile feel for a linear that I actually think is a nice . My main issue with these switches though is that despite how much I like them individual switches began to die out rather quickly for some odd reason more or so more than most switches Ived had. I had to already replace around 3-4 because they began missing inputs occasionally and causing some issues that were more noticeable whike gaming than typing (except for the space bar that was very noticeable) . I am not exactly sure why these seem to be dying out individually so quickly but otherwise I think it’s a great switch.

    Noice!

Switched a board from work to gaming, went from IK tactiles to IK linears - same great poppy sound, no bumpy clicky bit. Perfect!

Deep clack, full sounding and loud

Deep clack, full sounding and loud - love it!

I personally do not like the top out sound as it can sound very plasticky on certain keys. I believe this is due to the polycarb top-housing. This plasticky top-out sound is also present in the Ice Kacang Tactiles.

Some of the switches may have a sort of a "syringe-effect" as well where you feel like you are pushing through a small pocket of air - this goes away after some break-in.
